Cumming Handyman Service Testimonials
"From the moment I met Steve and Valerie, I knew I had hit gold. They did a fantastic job on the millwork for my kitchen remodel. The work I was doing required a highly skilled trim carpenter capable of handling unusual custom details for a reasonable fee. I got that and so much more:advise based on extensive experience, close attention to detail, adherence to schedule, and proactive coordination with multiple trades. They made the whole process feel easy. I would highly recommend this very professional team to anyone."

"I would like to say thank you and what a wonderful design & quality work you did in my kitchen. What started out as a "Builder Grade" kitchen has now become a showplace that I love to cook in! I show it off to everyone. The quality of the craftsmanship could not be compared to what is offered by other cabinetry makers, especially the large stores who have 'specialty' departments. Your design work and customization skill are exceptional. Also, it was such a pleasure working with both of you. The proper combination of professionalism and friendliness was very refreshing and it made the entire project not just a renovation but more of a revitalization of my home. I look forward to working with you both on future projects for my home and would highly recommend you to my friends who are looking to make their home a more pleasurable place to live in."

"I am a realtor with Keller Williams and started working with Steve and Valery Baur about six years ago when I listed a beautiful Victorian style house that they built, from the ground up, in Grant Park. Since then I have represented them in about 5 other transactions where they would buy a house, renovate it top to bottom and I would list and sell for them. I tell you this so you will realize that I have seen them though a lot of renovation and construction. They accomplish amazing things with Victorian homes, especially in the kitchens and bathrooms. Most of the kitchens are gutted and completely rebuilt. Steve does the wiring, plumbing, and particularly the cabinets which are better built than almost anything I see. I have also seen him reface cabinets, refurbish stained cabinetry, and repair and repaint painted finishes. His work is excellent. When I needed the master bath and guest bath in my 1886 Victorian renovated, Steve and Valery gutted it, leveled and tiled the floors, installed new fixtures, tiled the shower, and of course built the double vanity and coordinated installation of the granite countertops. Valery does excellent tiling and design work. The Baurs just completed my kitchen which turned out fantastic. Steve did wonderful pull outs, quiet drawer sliders, crown moldings, glass front cabinets, up lights, down lights, recessed lighting, flooring, you name it. It's beautiful and excellent quality. They also enclosed half of an enormous back porch turning it into a very formal back entrance. They also built a second story balcony in the Queen Anne Victorian style which is a show stopper. I have given their name to many friends and neighbors. I have yet to hear anything but praise for their craftsmanship and work ethic."

"As I am certain you realize, a kitchen renovation is not an easy transition for the customer, either mentally, physically, or financially. For that reason, we interviewed many contractors, including you guys. We were looking for three characteristics in our contractor: 1. A "down to earth" contractor that would work with us in design and implementation; 2. The quality of construction; and 3. The cost. We found all three in you. In response to Characteristic 1: Your patience and guidance, as we went through the myriad of optional design approaches to this project, was greatly appreciated by both of us. You were more like "family" than a a contractor. You expertise and knowledge, and our desires and doubts, took many paths. But you made it fun and exciting. In response to Characteristic 2: This was really your "strength suit". We, honestly, did not interview any other contractors that came even close to you in quality of construction. I strongly recommend that any family going through this process "peel back" the pretty look of what you are presented. Concentrate on both what you see and what you get behind that "pretty covering". In response to Characteristic 3: We started "financially conservative". We were thinking that we would just have the old cabinets resurfaced. What we found was that the cost differential, between resurfacing and totally new cabinets, was not worth moving in that direction. Your new cabinet estimate proved that. We were able to have "state of the art" new cabinets that met our budget. Did we make the right decision? Your "darn" right we did and we would do it all over again, if we had too!!! But we don't. Our kitchen is everything we wanted for today and tomorrow!!!"

"Steve and Val are caring professionals who work at every project as if it was for their own home. They renovated our Master Bathroom which we now consider the "jewel" of our home. During the project they kept the wear and tear to the rest of our home to a minimum. They listened attentively to our plans for the room and executed these plans to prefection! Steve and Val were sensitive and responsible regarding the project's budget. Their knowledge and talent for all aspects of home construction projects will truly impress you. Thanks Steve and Val!"

"I'm not sure how to put into words what you get with Steve and Valery. You get custom woodwork / cabinetry that makes your neighbors jealous (I know this as the jealous neighbor -- my next-door neighbor had them transform a chopped up little kitchen in a totally non-standard 100-year old house into a magical and warm piece of art, the woodworking was ALL custom and AMAZING, and it had special cubbies and cabinets and pullouts for everything she had and the space allowed - it was magnificent!). For me, they've done so many things I couldn't even list them. From the enormous to even smaller items that have been driving you insane forever; they're amazing. They put an exquisite railing on my front porch downtown that made me feel like I lived in a manor house. I think the railing ultimately might have sold the house for me! If you can describe what you want them to create, or better yet, find a picture of something similar, they'll give you 'what you asked for' -- only 100 times better than what you envisioned. Fantastic craftsmanship and quality; true talent and care for the finished product, and a couple you leave your extra set of house keys with -- without a second thought. You won't find anyone else like them anywhere. And this from someone who's admittedly not the easiest client!"
